Check out Motion Captured, an evening of Dance on Film, Saturday, February 2 at the ERJCC.
Dance Month at the Kaplan Theatre is proud to present its successful Motion Captured, An Evening of Dance on Film by local and national choreographers and filmmakers. Motion Captured will be presented Saturday, February 2 at 8:00 PM with a talk back following the films with a few of the local choreographers and film makers curated by Ashley Horn.
Some of this year’s line-up of short films include Rosie Trump’s Come Crawl Out Your Window which is a fairytale-like reverie for youth in a time and place that never quite was.
Ajar, by Nadine Helstroffer of New York, is a poetic portrayal of the stages of grief, and ventures to stay open in the face of loss and the mystery of death.
One of last year’s favorite filmmakers, Mitchell Rose, has a new film entitled Advance. Mitchell Rose has been called by the New York Times “A rare and wonderful talent.” Advance is the twelfth collaboration between Rose and BodyVox Dance Company.
Newcomer Audrey Bergeron’s film Errances depicts three women somewhat a drift – one lost in forgetfulness, the other in perfect control and the last, exploding. This project is an initiative by Audrey Bergeron and Le Broke Lab, a sharing and artistic laboratory.
Rebecca French’s The All Hands Meeting is set in a surreal office and investigates a space with warped gravity and a main character searching for an escape from her sterile work environment.
Other selections by accomplished filmmakers and choreographers include Wanderland Excerpt by Ashley Horn, There’s a Height Limit by Lydia Hance and Marta Reni’s Where the Dance Is and 890 Broadway.
